Patients Are Counting On People Like You

At The BK Foundation, we strive to provide the very best rehabilitative therapeutic socialization to the socially and physically challenged. There are great costs involved in the program and our session fees do not even closely cover those costs. Sponsorship's and donations are greatly needed to keep this program going for everyone out there. Our goal is to grow our scholarship program so that we may have a fund so that we may also provide sessions either discounted or fully funded to those individuals with low income upon going through an application process. It takes a lot of love and support from compassionate people like you and we truly appreciate it.

THE BK FOUNDATION was created from our heartfelt desire to provide personal healing.

Our objective is for our organization to provide rehabilitation and therapeutic socialization and riding for socially and physically challenged individuals, who suffer from physical and social disorders such as Autism, ADD, ADHD, Asperger's Syndrome, eating disorders, MS, Polio, ALS, Fibromyalgia, as well as Equine Enhanced Counseling for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, trauma, addiction recovery, and terminal illness. THE BK FOUNDATION is a healing sanctuary.

Patients Are Counting On People Like You

At The BK Foundation, we strive to provide the very best rehabilitative therapeutic socialization to the socially and physically challenged at no cost, to low income families and veterans. It takes a lot of love and support from compassionate people like you.

THE BK FOUNDATION provides a variety of animals in the facility to provide different levels of therapy that caters the individual needs of the person.

The interaction with the animals, horseback riding, as well as grooming and equine based therapeutic sessions to those in need (ages 3 years and up) that rehabilitate the mind and body while interacting and caring for the variety of animals. Equine-based therapy has been shown to improve the quality of life for those experiencing physical and developmental disabilities that can cause significant social, communication and behavioral challenges as well as those experiencing delays in physical and intellectual development. It has also been proven effective in those with social challenges and unusual behaviors otherwise thought to be unreachable by modern therapies.

Animal interaction, Equine-based therapeutic sessions, and our horseback riding sessions improve:
  • Motor development, coordination, and muscle tone
  • Relaxation of spastic muscles
  • Sensory stimulation to the body and brain
  • Balance and posture
  • Emotional and psychological well being
  • The cardiovascular system by increased stimulation
  • Self-esteem, confidence and feelings of self control
  • Aggressive or hyperactive behavior by channeling these behaviors & promoting the development of meaningful relationships and bonds
  • Ones sense of control and freedom

THE BK FOUNDATION will focus on the following groups as the benefits of equine based therapy and horseback riding are likely to impact symptoms of these conditions favorably and assist families already struggling with the associated financial challenges these disabilities present.

  • Autism - developmental disabilities that can cause significant social, communication and behavioral challenges. People with ASDs handle information in their brain differently than other people.
  • Down syndrome - a genetic condition that causes delays in physical and intellectual development. It occurs in approximately one in every 800 live births. Individuals with Down syndrome have 47 chromosomes instead of the usual 46. It is the most frequently occurring chromosomal disorder.
  • Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD or AD/HD) is a condition (mostly in boys) characterized by behavioral and learning disorder
  • Eating Disorder - abnormal eating habits that may involve either insufficient or excessive food intake to the detriment of an individual's physical and emotional health.
